The unwedded – the follow up

The unwedded-Web-5In the summer of 2013, I dove in this project of environmental portrait. It was relatively simple: make pictures on an abandoned sofa near my home. Trimmed the weeds, furniture moving, a fierce combat with bumble bees and the trick was done !

I had asked a friend photographer that has a great talent in front as well as behind the camera 🙂 I also had another friend photographer who joined the event to snap some pics. My friend came along to see that unbelievable scenario. It was an interesting experience for me because it was a first time that I mixed flash and ambient lights.

The project was cool but it soon became a seed for another idea: I could tell the story in reverse.

Therefor, the pictures made on the sofa could be the end of the story told in three parts. There could be a supper that went bad. Who says supper says logistics… By the time I tried to figure out how I could make this 2nd part of the project, the summer 2014 had zoomed by.

I was this summer that I really went ahead and built the necessary equipment to things in place. I made table that I could assemble on the spot, gathered the necessary dishes, scout a suitable location. Luckily, by the time I restarted the project, a flea market had burned down and it made a perfect spot for trashy pics of the “unwedded” (a great title conceived by my model Manon).

At the location, at deployed the table, dishes and lighting. I was about to do that all by myself but it turns out that another friend photographer (Lucie) had came by to see the event: she was a great help. She had the task of holding my photographic equipment in the fierce wind blowing that evening !

So here it is: the second act of the unwedded.
