Last ride

Last rideIn the middle of March, the snow had almost completely disappeared. So I went out for a hunt of scenery photos and I had in mind to visit this place I had already drove by in a previous ride. This is the old Doréa Institute, a remnant of the Duplessis era.

It was late in the afternoon on a cloudy day. Throughout the area, multiple signs of forbidden access were visible. Seeing the damages to buildings, it’s easy to understand that the owner(s) did not want any vandals. But, I had no intention of venturing far in this location: I was alone. You never know with old buildings like these!

I opted for the place the “most accessible” without being seen, the one north of the road. I walked around looking at the possibilities. I stopped my choice on the merry-go-round. I found that with the yellowed grass and plastered building, it had a gloomy feeling.

While doing research on the Internet about the place, I discovered that I wasn’t the only one who went there (obviously!). “Urbex” photography is popular among photographers. I even found a picture substantially the same point of view as mine…

Upon returning to my car, I walked around the building located to the right of this picture. The windows were also boarded but a door in the back wasn’t. Strangely, the forest was quiet … the door seemed to draw me by its great silent black hole, as if something evil wanted to attract me… brrrr I resisted and pursued to get to the car, finally…
