The deliverance

Since the beginning of the year, my image “production” had decreased a lot to become practically nil. It was due to my condition … My camera was sleeping in it’s bag and I was not able to embark on any photographic adventures. Lately, my condition has improved a lot and I decided to pickup my camera and dust it off! I focused in my vicinity where I found some topics.

It goes back to what I’m preaching: there are photo subjects all around us if just stop and watch!

That day of July 2nd, I settled in front of the house where was a flower box. Since the sun was still hidden by the house, the lighting was relatively diffuse. I installed the camera on a tripod with macro extension tubes and took a few shots. A slight wind made the flowers move. As I was in macro mode, it made the process a little difficult to obtain sharp pictures.

With a fairly closed opening and a speed resulting from a low iso, it lacked a little light! I opted for something I saw in a video tutorial: a sheet of paper in which I cut a hole the size of my lens and then I folded the top to have a diffuser. This way, I was getting a diffuse lighting, very close to the flowers using the built-in flash of the camera

The half hour I spent doing these photos was a deliverance allowing me to reconnect with photography!
