I add to these activities photography! This winter was particularly harsh and it was very difficult to make landscape picture. I tried once on a frosty morning and it only took a minute or two to get completely frozen fingers, <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-1233 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/www.fromoven.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Icy-shadow-2-300x133.jpg\" alt=\"Ombre glac\u00e9e - Icy shadow\" width=\"300\" height=\"133\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.fromoven.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Icy-shadow-2-300x133.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.fromoven.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Icy-shadow-2.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>even with good mitts. I still brought my camera my while practicing these winter sports. Here is a picture during one of them.<\/p>\n<p>As I mentioned yesterday in this same article, it was difficult for me to take pictures of landscapes since it means staying a &#8220;long&#8221; time outdoors. But, at -22 degree Celsius combined with a wind chill in the -30, it&#8217;s a challenge. Lately, the temperature had softened a bit. During this mild temperature, <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-1237 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/www.fromoven.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/For\u00eat-z\u00e8br\u00e9e-Web-1-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"For\u00eat z\u00e9br\u00e9e\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.fromoven.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/For\u00eat-z\u00e8br\u00e9e-Web-1-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.fromoven.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/For\u00eat-z\u00e8br\u00e9e-Web-1.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>we went snowshoeing and of course, I brought my camera&#8230; just in case! The trails, which we were very well maintained, made the walk easy. The scenery was great and the fact of being in the woods added to the experience. The photographic difficulty in these conditions is the contrast between shadows and bright conditions. There is always a way to exploit it to our advantage. In this case, I noticed that the forest was cleared at this point of the trail and the trees were small. In addition, the angle of the sun towards the end of the afternoon was producing interesting shadows. I slowed the pace and began to study the sector, while my wife waited after me! I ended up finding a relatively isolated tree where I could include all the shadows from the nearby trees.
