A different perspective

Emplieur à couché de soleil - Manure stacking a sunsetLast summer, I drove past this farm in Mont St-Grégoire during my weekly trips to photograph barns. But the sun’s path was not optimal for a photo that I liked to do.

This spring when the good weather finally came, I resumed my research via the Web. I remembered this barn. So I waited for the moment when the temperature was more stable and I went there. I examined the scene while walking along the road and fence (which obviously does not appear in Emplieur désuet - That old manure stacker - Webthe photo!). There was an old manure stacker and I wanted to go over the fence so I could validate the point of view for my photo. I retraced my steps back and I began to visit the other buildings on the ground, including among others, a house plastered / abandoned. But it is only a few minutes later I noticed the sign “No Trespassing” …

I went ahead my photos despite the sign, telling myself that I wasn’t here to demolish but build images! After an hour of having fun, I noticed a fast approaching car. I suspected it had to be the owner! I went to meet him immediately to Emplieur à 3 pattes - 3 legged manure stacker-Webexplain what I was doing. When he saw my gear, told me with a smirk: “continue having fun, I just wanted to make sure you weren’t a vandal.”

Of all my photo expeditions, it was the 2nd time that I had a person come up to me to check if I were a vandal.

I kept having fun and tried to find different perspectives for my pictures like including buildings to get a gist of what was there.
