On returning from the holidays, we had to attend a dance performance by a friend. We were on a pretty tight schedule so we took off in hurry.
It was raining abundantly driving to our destination. Once there, we watched the show in a damp heat room without air-conditioning … I tip my hat to the artists who had to struggle on the stage by this temperature!
I sat by the window and noticed that the brightness was getting stronger. I thought the clouds must receded. Once at the intermission, glancing out, I noticed that the sky was taking an orange hue. I rushed out: 1) because it was damn hot inside, 2) the sky was amazing!
Once outside, I saw the magnitude of the situation: the sky was orange from one end to the other because of the setting sun that struck beneath the clouds. What had I done leaving in a hurry? Left my camera at home … I still had my mobile phone…
So I had fun during the intermission: exposing for the sky to get a silhouette of this church that was right next to the community hall.
The adage is still true: the best camera is the one you carry…
