In recent weeks, I hadn’t gone out much to take pictures, well, a lot less than usual. So on my way to my work, I sometime use my smartphone (my 2nd camera!) even though I have my regular camera with me.
That morning, it was quite early and the sun was low on the horizon. Walking past this tree on the sidewalk, I saw the shadow on the ground that was well defined since the sun was shining strongly.
I had that little voice in my head calling for a picture: right out of my imagination. I stopped and observed. It is at that moment that I realized that the shadow and the half-moon grid were like a sundial. I positioned the phone above and near the tree and that was it: a solar clock!
Tomorrow, the no.2 shadows: dead on the sidewalk.
