When the weather permits, I opt to walk camera in hand instead of riding the subway home. My goal (warning, incoming word game!!!) is to score and photograph graphic elements that I find on my way. My usual path is near the Jacques-Cartier Bridge neighborhood towards Place Bonaventure. I try to find a different path each time.
This ballad was held towards the end of February and there was still snow (the little that we received this winter!). The constant struggle between snow and rain this season made the “path” quite slippery in certain places. That garage door was interesting because I found it a pleasant contrast between the bright yellow color and hardness of metallic outline. This photo even served me a lesson: to ensure I captured it right before leaving the premises (even more important when you are traveling!) Back home I realized with horror that the picture was blurred…?!? Fortunately, I was able return again the following week and photograph the garage door again.
