The sunset of despair

I wanted to photograph a sunset that weekend but the conditions Solitaire à la brunante weren’t favorable. It had been about 2 weeks as I watched the sun set through the bus window and I was desperate to catch a sunset or sunrise. Indeed, exasperated by the constant traffic jams, I decided to commute by bus. The disadvantage is not having the freedom to stop here and there to take pictures; at least, I gain peace of mind! Still, I was getting the itchy fingers since I was not taking photos! On the way back from work one day, I observed the sun and the clouds that amalgamated in a wonderful mix of colors. As I watched the minutes go by while the bus crept its way to the terminal. I was hoping to arrive just in time in order to rush to the car and find a place to photograph. In sunset situations (or sunrise), seconds are precious: the lighting conditions change very quickly and you have to be settled to a suitable spot well in advance (a luxury I didn’t have traveling by bus!). So I chose this lonely tree facing dusk to relieve my lack of photos!

Tomorrow, studio shoot to the rescue…
